Rennie Grove Hospice Brass Concert

The Slough Horticultural show will return to Lascelles Park, Slough on Saturday 18th August from 11am – 5pm. With support from the Shanly Foundation, the event is set to be a huge success with a day of family fun with food and drink stalls, a ‘homemade and home grown’ competition and the Love Slough’s Parks photography competition.
Organised by the Slough Allotment Federation and the Slough Borough Council, the day is expected to attract people within 25 miles of Slough, all of whom may enter their home-grown vegetables, flowers, arts and crafts, cooking, preserves and beverages. The show is run by a committee made up of representatives from the Slough Allotment Federation, Slough in Bloom and Slough Borough Council.
The day is inclusive for all ages, with classes for children to enter the competitions. School and youth groups can also take part in the challenge to create a scarecrow that depicts a child’s film or book character using any materials they choose.
Rob Anderson, cabinet member for environment and leisure at Slough Borough Council, said: “We are delighted to be bringing back the Horticultural Show, in partnership with the Slough Allotments Federation and Slough in Bloom to Slough. It is set to be a fantastic family day out, showcasing the very best homemade and homegrown products our residents have to offer.”
“There really is something for everyone and I’m looking forward to seeing the showcase of local talent on the day. The Slough Horticultural Show has benefitted from the generosity of the Shanly Foundation. Their kind donation has allowed us to secure the event’s main marquee and to provide some wonderful family entertainment for our local residents to enjoy.”
The Shanly Foundation’s donation of £4,000 will be used to hire a large marquee for the event and it will also cover some of the family entertainment that will be available on the day. The show’s main attractions will include fun fair rides, an inflatable maze and a display of classic/vintage cars.
All produce classes will be judged by the professional horticultural judges and after 4.30pm produce will be available to buy.
